Notice on Further Strictly implementing the examination and approval system for patent applications

Recently, after audit examination and self-examination of the university, it was found that there was a problem that the inventor or designer of the university applied for patents in the name of Beijing Institute of Technology without the approval of the university。The relevant work is hereby notified as follows:

First, a comprehensive investigation

All relevant units are requested to comprehensively investigate the cases of inventors or designers who have not applied for patents approved by the University since April 2022 (based on the date of patent application), and feedback the list of patents involved to the Scientific Research Institute before August 21。

Second, unified rectification

If it is found that there is an application for a patent without approval, the relevant units shall urge the inventor or designer involved to immediately reapply for the patent application approval procedures in accordance with the patent application process of the school, and complete the reapplication work before August 23。

Third, strengthen management

All relevant units shall further strict requirements, strengthen publicity, and implement the patent application approval system in accordance with the "Beijing Institute of Technology Patent Administration Measures"。After this investigation and rectification work, if the application for patents without approval is found again, the school will strengthen the punishment, and the problem will be included in the assessment of units and individuals。

Please all relevant units attach great importance to this work, carry out a comprehensive investigation of the existing problems, urge the rapid and effective rectification of the unapproved patents found, and complete the investigation and rectification work in strict accordance with the notice time node。
